Finding the Best Western Premier Why Hotel in Lille is an easy walk from any of the train stations, the facade already hints your about to get into something unusual about a standard hotel, something it definitely is not.

The lobby and entrance is nothing to boast about, it has a restaurant on the main floor and outdoor terrace, a DJ  with chill-out music suggests a trendy place to be, something the room interiors definitely deliver.

Oval windows, stylish rooms, big plush beds, LED mood lighting, flat screen TV, modern bathrooms with very unique deep bath and shower that requires a bit of a climb. There is room service available (handy when I discovered my fridge wasn't working and a bucket of ice was delivered). In room coffee maker with proper Nesspresso coffee that always delivers a punch of caffeine.

The Best Western Premier Why Hotel is chic and stylish. The location is ideal, butLille is small anyway, getting around on foot is the best way to see the town. Nearby pedestrian shopping areas and restaurants, and just a short walk from main sites.

Hotel Galeon Sitges

Having returned year on year to Sitges for my annual holiday from holidays, the Hotel Sitges group offers a selection of hotels in various classes, one of which is Hotel Galeon which at one time was a budget hotel, but now delivers a much more upscale experience, and a reason why I always choose to book here first when I return to Sitges.

When I first stayed in Hotel Galeon the rooms were basic but clean, it delivered excellent value back then, and since renovations and upgrades rooms are now delightfully decorated, comfortable beds, wooden floors and modernised bathrooms, even air conditioning is installed in the rooms for individual control for those that just can't stand the heat.

What I really like is the late breakfasts which are served until 12pm, unheard of in almost any hotel elsewhere. A choice of pillow from soft to firm, and even beach towels and umbrellas are available free (with deposit), saving you valuable luggage space and weight.

Hotel Galeon is my number one choice when I return to Sitges  it delivers and is an excellent product conveniently located in the heart of Sitges.

Globus Hotel Review - Florence Italy

Located near the Florence train station and only 10 minute walk into the center, Globus Hotel is basic and clean, ideally located for exploring this small pedestrian friendly city.

Clean room, free wifi, free continental breakfast, in-room mini/bar/fridge, air conditioned rooms, and friendly staff. It serves its purpose and is excellent value for a short stay in Florence.

There are a few things that did lower my score, but I can't complain about my overall stay. My room (208) was at the back of the building and when the central air system turned on was like a rocket taking off, though after a few loud burst soon adjusted to the sound. The in room TV was small and the sound poor and tinny - however your visiting this fabulous city so staying in your room is just for relaxing - this is not a city to be watching TV in your room.

Overall it met my needs for a short break, and for the price was a great deal for a stay in Florence. It is no frills but clean, a good budget option for a short city break in a fabulous city.

Garden Ring Hotel - Moscow - Russia

An elegant hotel just 2km from Red Square and the Kremlin and only steps away from the Moscow Metro. Great sized rooms, a bed that really delivers a great night sleep, 5 star breakfasts with plenty of options (if you don't see what you like, they make it for you), and superior service.

The Garden Ring Hotel also offers a spa and pool. Finnish and herbal saunas, hammam and shower of experiences, salt aroma-steam and a swimming pool are excellent and a great way to unwind after a long day walking around what really is a large city to explore.

The location is ideal for business travellers and tourists, with an excellent Metro and Underground system, getting around is fast and efficient.

Possibly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

Hotel 3mostA - Saint Petersburg - Russia

Named after the area where the hotel is situated, "3 Bridges", Hotel 3mostA is a  boutique hotel in a great location for seeing St Petersburg Russia, just a few minutes walk to the world famous Hermitage, and just a step away from the jaw-dropping Church of the Saviour on Spilt Blood.There are shops and entertainment nearby, some open 24 hours, including the hotel lobby bar. If you can't sleep during the White Nights, there is still plenty to do nearby.

The Room

There are 26 rooms with wooden floors, each equipped with climate control system, free wireless internet access, a telephone, a 32'' LCD TV, and a small fridge. I had the Standard Double Room (room 25), about 20 square metres, double bed and bathroom with a shower only. I really liked the warm towel rail which keeps them warm and dry.

Four Seasons Terrace Restaurant

On the 5th floor, the restaurant offers panoramic views of Church of the Saviour on Spilt Blood, the most breathtaking building in St Petersburg.

Get the key from reception and take the lift/elevator to the last floor, leave the lift/elevator and turn left and go up the stairs, you'll find a closed metal door, walk up a small set of steps and find a rooftop terrace with chairs and some great views of the surrounding area.

I wouldn't hesitate to return to Hotel 3mostA, the location alone makes this ideal.
